SUGGESTIONS FOR USING THE MUSIC

Donkey's Tales Lyrics

• Verses 1-5 are part of the “grandmother’s song” and are about the birth narrative. Used with the book, it would be very easy to adapt this portion of the text for a simple children’s Christmas pageant.
• Verses 6 and 7 are also part of the grandmother’s song and recount the times that angels tell Joseph about the danger of Herod and also when it was safe to return to Israel.
• Verse 8 is the young donkey’s addition to his grandmother’s song as the joyful procession goes into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
